"High Seat is a first class viewpoint, with much of interest to see in all directions. The serrated skyline from south to north-west is remarkably good and will gain most attention" A.W Wainwright liked it, and so will you. Take this guided fell walk across the mid level fells alongside Thirlmere with an experienced guide to show you all the best sights.
From the car park at Armboth we will climb alongside Fisher Gill to climb to the summit of Fisher Crag, a wonderful viewpoint over Thirlmere before climbing to the summit of Armboth Fell and then onto the main north south ridge at Middle Crag.
The ridge then leads north over the heathery summit of High Tove before climbing to the highest point of the day, High Seat.
We will descend East from High Seat to drop down to the path into the woodland below and after a short detour too see Castle Crag Fort we will climb through the trees to the rocky summit of Raven Crag another great viewpoint over Thirlmere below.
From Raven Crag we will descend east through the woodland to the shore of Thirlmere following the lakeshore path south back to the Armboth Car Park.
