Learn the basics of Open Canoeing on this course based in Roker, Sunderland which explains all the basics, from forwards and backwards paddling, turning the open canoe on the move and stationary and exiting the open canoe- this has all a beginner needs to get an excellent grounding in the skills of canoeing. If you want to try canoeing but aren't sure where to start, this is a brilliant option.

We are a British Canoe Union Approved Centre, and are licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority and hold the Adventure Mark.
Our Canoe Sport school is run from a state of the Art purpose built water-side location where we can offer changing facilities, hot showers, a classroom and there is ample free parking nearby.
At our Canoe school we take Canoe sport coaching seriously and work hard to make sure that your Canoe sport lesson is as fun and rewarding as possible. For this reason all of our coaches are qualified paddle sport coaches, first aiders, and have a passion for canoe sport which they impart with upmost enthusiasm. A Canoe sport lesson with us can help you to achieve all of your Canoe sport goals.
Meet at reception at Adventure Sunderland 15 minutes before Activity, where you will be kitted out, have access to changing rooms and then briefed on the activity ahead.
