If you love walking, this walking tour of Loughrigg Fell will be right up your street. The guided walk will help you see all of the local area of Loughrigg Fell from woodland to footpaths and much more en route. A brilliant trip for any hiker!
From White Moss we will cross the river Rothay to climb through the woods to the Loughrigg Terrace path, one of the most scenic paths in the Lake District with wonderful views over Grasmere.
From the northern end of the terrace path we will climb too the summit of Loughrigg, a fine grassy summit with an amazing 360 degree view of much of the Lake District.
Once we have made the most of the view we will walk south from the summit following the ridge towards Ivy Crag, exploring the picturesque fellside before eventually turning to the north, descending to Big Cave at Loughrigg Quarries before descending onto the terraced path above Rydal Water bringing us back to the woods above White Moss where a short walk will bring us back through the woods to the River Rothay and White Moss Common.
During 2012 we are offering free childrens places on this walk, when accompanied by an adult.
