Day 1
Take a step into the dark, secret and mysterious world of horizontal caves and ancient mines.
An ideal introduction for people wishing their first steps underground to be fun carefully organised, informative and conducted by highly experienced nationally qualified instructors.
Learn about the cave, its geology and the 300 million years it took to create it. Pick up tips on how to move underground efficiently, maybe try your hand at wet sections, muddy bits or squeezes and we promise you wont get stuck.
You can see underground rivers and waterfalls, fascinating pieces of geology, cave decorations or historical sites of past of times and ancient techniques. A wonderful environment that can be made as challenging as you wish. A full day of exploration, adventure and understanding. May include minor climbs/Scrambles.
Day 2
Adventure caving combine with the exhilaration of underground abseils and ladder climbing!
Explore deeper cave and mine systems, using our specialist ladder and safety line techniques. You won’t need any additional training courses to take part, just a bit of fitness and determination.
Descend into the cave using abseils and traverses along high ledges, then after exploring the heart of the cave, return to the surface, climbing our roll up caving ladders. On all ascents and descents, you will have with a safety line attached to you, helping you up and keeping you safe. With a motivated team you can reach the deepest parts of the Peak district. A day you will remember forever.
These trips have horizontal sections so you can explore the cave environment on foot as well. They contain all the fascinating information and anecdotes that are in non-vertical trips. This can be tagged onto the Horizontal Caving Course as a second day of adventure.
