Discover just what canyoning is with this fantastic day out in Coniston. Great for an activity break or a stag weekend, throw yourself into the waters of Coniston with a professional guide to show you the ropes of this unique activity!
Canyoning is certainly the activity for adrenaline seekers. The canyoning trips involve descending one of the Lake Districts steep gorges, coming down from the mountains. Once commited you jump, abseil and slide down a series of waterfalls into deep plunge pools. Canyoning provides a real buzz and is a very memorable way of spending a day in the Lake District and enjoying it's natural environment. Wetsuits, helmets, harnesses and buoyancy aids are all provided. The trips are generally a whole day with a short abseil session to begin with so that you have the required skills for when you enter the Canyon and also allows us to include more waterfalls that will need to be abseiled.
We meet you 15 minutes before the activity to get kitted up.
To begin the day we meet at a local quarry and spend a short time on abseiling. This is to allow you to feel confident with the idea of walking off cliffs/waterfalls attached to a rope and look at how we abseil once in the Canyon.
From here it is a 5 minute drive to the Canyon. We have a quick packed lunch, get dressed into wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets and then head off into the Canyon where you will spend the rest of the day abseiling, jumping and sliding down waterfalls...!
None needed - all jumps can be abseiled if you have someone in the party who is nervous at the idea of high jumps.
Own transport needed to meet at activity site and move between the Abseil/Canyon
All technical equipment and highly experienced instructor.
Kit List will be sent along with booking details. Wetsuits are provided.
