When climbing isn’t what you need, a day of Ghyll Scrambling in Newlands Valley, Keswick is ideal. Also known as gorge walking or gorge scrambling, prepare to traverse rivers and lakes of the Lakes in this fun outdoor activity great for adults and fun for kids to do too!
Ghyll scrambling with us is always a favourite, involving descending a Lake District mountain stream. This may include slides, dives, jumps and scrambles in fresh sparkling lakeland water.
Ghyll is a Lakeland word of Norse origin describing a mountain stream. A fun wet and wild experience , using natures natural water park. It’s a brilliant and fun way to cool down .

We run sessions starting either AM (9.30) or PM (13.30)
* 0900 or 1330: Meet at the bottom of the ghyll scramble and introductions.
* 0930 or 1400: Kit up with wetsuits, waterproofs and helmets before heading to the start.
* 1000 or 1430: Enter the water and start scramblingyour way, sliding,and jumping our way up or down the ghyll
* 1200 or 1630: Complete the ghyll scramble,
depart with a grin cheek to cheek

All safty equipment and tecnical gear
We provide all of the acivity specific equipment for your session with us.
You will need a decent pair off shoes(not crocs,flipflops,wetshoes or plimsoles) ie trainers or boots as well as a towel and a old pair of trousers or shorts to go over the wetsuit.
Please remember that cotton clothing is not the most practical outdoor wear. (Jeans etc)
Local car parking is available, but please remember that some parking facilities charge a fee.
